Quick Word from Pastor Rob
The story of the Bible is God’s great love. Ephesians 2:4 says: “God who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us”. What follows in the next few verses is how God shows us that love. God gives us life. Ephesians 2:5 says: “even when we were dead in trespasses made us alive together with Christ…” When did He do that? He did that the day that you accepted His son Jesus as your savior. That was such a momentous day for me that I can still remember it clearly. How did He do that? He did that through His selfless and sacrificial death on the cross.
God gives us fellowship. In Ephesians 2: 6 we read: “and raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. God has always desired to have a relationship with His creation. The opening pages of Genesis tell us that. It also tells us that sin happened. Because of that God had made a plan so that His relationship with His creation could be restored. How did He do that? He did that by giving His son Jesus to die for our sins.
God gives us riches. In Ephesians 2:7 it says: “That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace…” His riches are so vast that it will take eternity to showcase them! The Bible describes it as not being able to comprehend the things that God has prepared for those who love Him in I Corinthians 2:9.
