Quick Word from Pastor Rob
When I was about 12 years old I went to Camp Berean in Martinsville, Indiana for a week. It was a church camp. I had a lot of fun doing the camp things like playing ball, swimming and hiking in the woods. Because of that week I continued to go to church camp every summer all the way through high school. I had the time of my life.
I can’t remember too much about those days it was a long time ago. However, one thing that I have never forgotten is the banner in the dining hall. It had this verse from the Bible: I Corinthians 10:31 “Therefore whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Before we sat down to every meal we had to say this verse together. We said it three times a day for the whole week. Over 50 years have passed since that summer but that verse has stayed with me: “do all to the glory of God”.
What a difference it would make to us and those around us if we challenged ourselves to live out this verse: “do all to the glory of God”. Would it affect our relationships? Would it give us a better testimony both inside and outside the church? Would it make us better workers, neighbors, friends, and citizens? Absolutely!
Why not take some time today and think about it. Better yet, act on it.
