Quick Word from Pastor Rob
God wants you to succeed. That’s the good news. More news: God expects something from you. Success is something that everyone wants to achieve. Unfortunately, we often define success “worldly” and pursue success “wrongly”. What does God say about it?
You succeed by reading God’s Word. Joshua 1:8 says: “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success”. Joshua was told three things: “observe”, “do”, “according to all”. This is a formula for true success.
You succeed by pursuing God’s plan. Romans 12:1-2 gives us the overall goal. We are to be a “living sacrifice” and we are not to be conformed but transformed. Pursuing God’s plan means making wise decisions and that will only happen if we strive for the above mentioned goals. Sometimes Christians fail because they hide behind God’s will rather than seek it.
You succeed by searching your heart. Monitor your life’s situation and learn to put boundaries on your desires. Why should we do this? A good answer can be found in Jeremiah 17:9: “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked who can know it”?
God is in our corner. Where are we spiritually?
